Algebra Class is Not That Bad After All
So I went to school tonight with intention to drop the class. My reasoning for dropping was that the class was lame and that I was paying a lot of money to teach myself.
As I was walking to the building from the parking lot my conscious was telling me “don’t drop the class, don’t drop it”. I actually listened to my conscious this time and walked to class instead of the admin building. Once there I sat down and began to read the boring “online book” and algebraic mumbo jumbo.
Once I was own with the last chapter I need to read to take the test I clicked on the click and it was giving me some weird message about something not being complete. I called the administrator over and he looked at the message and asked if I had done the homework. “What homework?” I asked felling kind of goofy. He had me click on a link and point to a list of homework assignments that needed to be done before you can take the test.
I was kind of bummed about having to do even more work before the test but decided to take a go at it anyway.
To my surprise the homework is really cool. The homework consisted of 10 questions that you had to provide the answer to. Not really that cool since that is usually what homework is. What was cool about it was that if you gave it a wrong answer it would sit there and go step-by=step with you to where you would need to give the answer for each step until you got to the correct answer at the end. Once you got the correct answer it would then give you a similar problem to make sure that you understand the steps correctly.
This was good for me because it really brought out the areas that I was not very strong in and then showed me how to do the problem correctly.
I was hooked.
I proceeded to do my other 2 homework assignments and then was ready for the test.
The test wasn’t much different then the homework in except that it was 17 questions and does not tell you whether you got the answer correct until the end. I ended up getting an 87% on my first test (I am usually a “B” student so this fits).
Now I have 2 weeks left and 4 tests to take. I am able to come in twice a week and do my homework from home so I do not see any issue getting that done.
So basically I am taking an 8 week course in 4 weeks. Not bad.
